Wills and Estates:

Good estate planning is a gift to your loved ones at a time they need it most. All adults, especially with minor children, need some form of estate planning.

An estate plan helps ensure that a person has taken care of themselves and their family, both through their lifetime, and upon their passing.  With planning, you will cover many areas such as child protection, how to leave assets to a beneficiary with special needs, asset transfer, estate/gift tax planning, asset protection, business succession, and exit planning and healthcare option.

Plans often include a will, one or more trusts, a durable power of attorney, and an advance medical directive.

Real Estate:

Our real estate practice encompasses many areas beyond buying and selling property.

In addition to the purchasing and sale of residential and commercial properties, our real estate practice includes title work, lease drafting and review, landlord/tenant matters, land transactions involving conservation easements, and boundary disputes. We also assist in the creation of condominiums and common ownership communities, and the creation and representation of homeowners associations.

Land Use:

If you are subdividing or developing land, we will assist in obtaining the necessary state and local permits for your project.  We also represent land owners, developers, and neighbors in land use matters before local planning and zoning boards, Act 250 commissions, and the Environmental Court.

Small Business Formation and Advising:

If you are starting up a new business, we will help you choose and form the appropriate corporate or LLC entity, and prepare your governing documents.  We can also assist with other aspects of your business including business acquisitions and sales, re-structuring, and drafting and reviewing contracts.

LGBTQ+:

We take great pride in supporting and serving lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer individuals in a variety of areas including establishing and protecting parentage rights, and general representation in my other practice areas.  As supporting members of the community, we understand the often subtle, and sometimes not so subtle, ways our identities affect our family and business relationships. We are mindful of these experiences as we assist our clients in achieving their goals.
